Spring time is a great time to visit our northwoods for a relaxing getaway before the busy time of summer. If shopping is on your list you can find the perfect northwoods treasure for your home or cabin while strolling along the charming streets of Eagle River. Area merchants offer a wide variety of quality handmade crafts and quilts, rare antiques and more. From books to clothes to sweet confections, you’ll find something for every style and taste.
While out shopping you may want to take time to tour the Three Lakes Winery where you will be able to observe the making and bottling of the flavorful Fruit of the Woods Wine, browse through the winery’s gourmet gift shop and enjoy free wine tasting.
Dining variety abounds in the Eagle River area and we are famous for our warm Northwoods hospitality. If you are looking for a quick meal for the family or an elegant dining experience for a romantic evening, we offer many choices. Feast as the lumber barons did years ago. Enjoy a popular all-you-can-eat Friday Night Fish Fry. Great food in a beautiful Northwoods setting always seems just a little bit better.
For families we invite you to make a stop at The Northwoods Children’s Museum where children enjoy hands-on opportunities and a variety of exhibits. A special day will be April 17 when The Easter Bunny will be visiting the museum from noon to 3:00 PM.
Another family activity would be to attend Eagle River’s annual Silver Blades Ice Show which will be held April 9-10 at the Ice Arena. It is guaranteed to be a talented and colorful show featuring area skaters of all ages. Shows are scheduled at 2:00 PM on both Saturday and Sunday with an evening show at 7:00 PM on Saturday.
If you are an outdoor enthusiast we offer some great hiking and biking trails in our area which provide safe, alternative routes connecting area communities. Not only will you enjoy the ride or hike but take to enjoy nature as spring is in bloom. After a refreshing day out in our northwoods you may enjoy a springtime campfire near our shoreline at our large fire pits.
