Spring at Wild Eagle Lodge
With the weather in the 40s to 50s all week it is hard not to think that spring has arrived in the Northwoods. The snow is starting to melt and all around people are out enjoying the weather. I don’t know if we will get our usual spring snowstorm or not this year, but I can say I am really enjoying this early spring right now. I’ve fired up the grill the past couple of nights and I can’t wait until my fire pit peeks its way through the snow so I can have the first campfire of the year. If you want to come up and take part in some spring fun we are offering some great specials right now. Don’t forget to make your Spring Break and Easter plans as well.

Good luck to the Milwaukee Winter Club, Waukesha Warhawks, and Arrowhead Youth Hockey teams this weekend! All three clubs are staying here at Wild Eagle Lodge over the weekend and competing in the Eagle River Recreation Association’s Squirt 1A/2A tournament. If you happen to be out at the tournament this weekend, stop by the concession stand Saturday morning to say hello to Wild Eagle Lodge staffer, Julie Szafranski, who will be volunteering for the morning!

Hello brides to be!
As each new bride and groom begin planning their wedding details I meet with them at Wild Eagle Lodge a few months before their big day. I adore meeting with each of the bride’s to hear to their wedding day details as each one has her own unique and creative ideas!
This week I met with the first bride of the summer season and her mother. Kjirsti had a lot of great questions and her plans are all falling into place beautifully. From the complimentary rehearsal picnic to be held at our campfire/picnic area located on Lynx Lake; to the complimentary gift opening to be held in her event tent the day after, I can easily envision what her special day will entail.
I have a question that I would like to ask all of you newlyweds or newly engaged! How many of you either had a champagne fountain at your reception or how many would like to have a champagne fountain at your reception? I would love to hear back from anybody about their opinion on this topic as it will help me with future wedding receptions!
Thanks & have a wonderful day!

Spring at Wild Eagle Lodge
Another successful Klondike Days is in the books! The weather cooperated with us for a beautiful weekend. With spring and the Easter holiday in the near future, I wanted to remind everyone about our Easter package we are offering starting this year. If you have not made any plans yet, come up and visit us here at Wild Eagle Lodge. Also new this year, we will be having an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 4th for our younger guests. We will be hiding some plastic eggs around the resort filled with goodies and will give the kids a sheet of clues to help them find them. We hope to see you all there!

I was just visiting with an upcoming business retreat organizer today about different team building activities at Wild Eagle Lodge and in the Eagle River area. There really is a big array of activities offered here in the Northwoods of Wisconsin! Many of our business retreat clients enjoy taking the resort’s canoes and kayaks out onto the Chain of Lakes for a morning or afternoon group excursion, sand volleyball games and softball games are also very popular choices! For those looking to venture off the resort golf, tubing the Wisconsin River, fishing the Chain of Lakes, and hiking are popular choices. In addition, Wild Eagle Lodge is happy to offer ideas for indoor team building activities and games to our groups!
I would love to hear from you! Please let me know what your favorite team building activities are! All the best- Heather

Klondike Days Festival in Eagle River, WI
Klondike Days weekend is here! If you are looking for something to do this weekend Klondike Days is a great family festival. For more information about Klondike Days you can visit their website. Wild Eagle Lodge is offering great weekend specials, visit our Last Minute Deals page for more information. I was out riding yesterday and the trails were in good to great condition for the most part with stretches where they were in fair condition. The temperatures were in the low 30’s, so by the afternoon the trails were a little soft. Don’t worry though the cold temperatures at night re-freeze the trails and allow for the groomers to go out. Also if you are looking for a place to spend the Easter holiday come up and visit us here at Wild Eagle Lodge. We have a great Easter Package and will be having an Easter egg hunt on the holiday weekend for the kids to enjoy.
Have a great weekend – Justin

Here is the official Eagle River Snowmobile Trail Report:
It was 10 degrees this morning with sun. Trails right now are in GOOD condition.
Groomers were out again last night in Sno-Eagles Country. The drivers just got in and reported no problem areas. Log hauling continues on Trail 10/13 so as I have been reporting that area is icy and thin on snow. This is only the section where Trail 10 and 13 runs together.
The hard frozen snow base is in place with loose SNOW on top. With the sun out today conditions will vary from trail to trail. We will have to wait & see how things fair at the end of the day.
Catfish Lake Loop and Eagle Lake Trail are both smooth and covered with lots of SNOW. Stay by the orange marker barrels.

We got 4” of snow last night and are suppose to get another 2-4” during the day. Checkout the current trail conditions here. The trails look great. You will want to take one of our self guided snowmobile trips on your next visit.
Join us this spring with our new Easter Package. We are planning an Easter egg hunt for the kids on the resort Easter weekend. It is going to be fun and you won’t want to miss it.

Great trail conditions in the Eagle River Area
It’s Thursday and the trails in Eagle River are in GOOD to EXCELLENT condition. New Snow over the last few days and the return to COLD temperatures have improved the trails even more.
Full grooming schedule continued last night. Hard frozen snow base with loose snow on top. The hard snow base is icy in many areas so slow down not only in the corners, but everywhere. Even if you have picks on your track. Remember to stay on your side of the trail.
Catfish Lake Loop & Eagle Lake Trail in Sno-Eagles Country are safe by the orange reflective barrels. Snow covered and very few rough stops if any.
Log hauling continues on Trail 10/13 west of the snowmobile bridge. Virgil & Kevin from Iowa rode out in that area & told me that they would rate it as FAIR. That’s a great improvement.
Pond Hockey Championships starts Friday on Dollar Lake by the Chanticleer. You can ride there by sled using Trail 10E to Trail 1 which runs alongside of Dollar Lake Rd.
THINK SNOW & COLD!
See ya on the trails!
