Wild Eagle Lodge Guest Lands a Monster Smallie!

Pat C. with a beauty

Check out this wallhanger!

Frequent resort visitor Pat C. from Bettendorf, IA., landed this wallhanger on Sept. 5th. This beauty was caught on an orange/black Pacemaker muskie lure! The fish measured 20″ and our resident guide, Muskie Matt, estimated its weight at 6 lbs. The fish was caught on Yellow Birch Lake. Pat’s wife Janet, an aspiring muskie angler, assisted with the catch. Although, they didn’t land a muskie on this day, this smallie made for some great memories.
Wild Eagle Lodge is located on the largest chain of freshwater lakes in the world. The lakes are home to trophy muskie, walleye, pike, bass and an abundance of panfish.

Fall Fishing and Muskie School

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

I’m looking out the office window at the trees beginning to change color. It is hard to believe with this warm and sunny weather that fall is right around the corner. The calls are starting to come in for our fall fishing packages. If you haven’t made plans to come land that big one you should. Wild Eagle Lodge’s Muskie School is coming up  October 9-11th. Come learn techniques and secrets of the great muskie hunt from our house guide Muskie Matt.

The Wild Eagle Lodge would like to congratulate Jared Adamovich and Brian Krelle of Eagle River for winning the WMT this past weekend in Eagle River. They landed a 36.25 fish with only 23 minutes left in the tourney to take the lead!

The Wild Eagle Lodge would like to thank all 52 teams for participating. We look forward to hosting the event again next year. Also, a special thanks to Tom McInnis and Beth for running a first class tournament. It was a pleasure working with you.

The Wild Eagle Lodge team of our own Resort Manager Derek Burzinski and house guide Muskie Matt did participate in the tournament over this past weekend. This was their first year in this event and they both cannot wait until next year. Muskie Matt also hosts the RFRG outdoor show here at the Wild Eagle Lodge every Sunday at 7 pm. Come out and see him this week and ask him any fishing related questions you may have.
