Walleye School 2010

The Wild Eagle Lodge Walleye School kicked off tonight with a meet and greet session.  We have participants from Ohio, Colorado, Iowa and Wisconsin. Hopefully the weather will cooperate for them and they will land some big fish.  Check back throughout the weekend because we will keep you updated on how things are going and will be posting pictures of the fish caught.

Business After Five

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

Wild Eagle Lodge hosted the Chamber of Commerce Business After Five get-together last night.  We offered some new menu items that will be featured at our Tiki Bar this summer.  A few of the items that people were raving about were the Pineapple Teriyaki Chicken Wings, Fruit Salsa with homemade tortilla chips, and the Banana Nutella Panini.  We also hooked up the Wii that will be used for our family activities program and tried it out! Fun
was had by all. Thank you to everyone that attended!!  I will post the new Tiki Bar menu once it is finalized.

I am very excited to announce we are expanding our summer activities this year. This summer we will offer more family fun activities as well as some of the favorites we normally have. We just purchased a Wii to be used for game night on the big screen in Boondocker’s.  So stay tuned for more information and a schedule to follow soon.

A productive trip, for many reasons!

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

Hello all-  Heather here, from the Wild Eagle Lodge Group Sales Department!  As some of you know, I regularly take sales trips throughout Wisconsin to visit Wild Eagle Lodge’s current and prospective business retreat clients.  Yesterday took me to the Wausau, Wisconsin area where I had the opportunity to visit with some great people.  On my way home I couldn’t resist the urge to pick up some Jimmy John’s subs for my husband and I for dinner.  Jimmy and his staff are perennial guests at Wild Eagle Lodge each winter and they love the Amsoil World Championship Snowmobile Derby!  The subs were awesome as usual…so here’s to the Jimmy John’s crew!!  Have a great day- Heather Beach

Eagle River is officially Wisconsin’s Hockey Capital.

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

Eagle River now holds the title of Wisconsin’s Hockey Capital.  It seems
like a natural fit to me since we are already the home to the Wisconsin
Hockey Hall of Fame and have so much hockey history in this town.  Eagle
River is home to many famous hockey players and hosts many popular
tournaments. The summer hockey schools here are ranked as some of the best in the country.  So the next time you visit stop in, visit the Hockey Hall
of Fame or catch a hockey game.

Family Reunion Baseball Game

With spring also comes baseball season. In my household we are busy signing up the boys, sizing for new cleats, and practicing in the front yard. Then, this past week was “Opening Day” and we cheered on our favorite team. So with this in mind, I thought why not let a lucky baseball fan win 10% off their next reservation with us here at the Wild Eagle Lodge. The first person to post the correct answer as a comment to this blog entry will win. Today’s question is:

Who was the first United States President to throw out the first ceremonial pitch on opening day?

Congratulations Jim DePlant for getting the correct answer!

On the first day of the 1910 season President William Howard Taft became the first president to throw the ceremonial first pitch of a new major league baseball season.

Happy Easter!

Wild Eagle Lodge

Since another holiday is upon us here at Wild Eagle Lodge I thought I would offer everyone a great deal for today. If you call us and make a confirmed reservation today before 9 pm we will take $10 off per night or $70 off for the week*. Just mention promo code EST1036 when you make your reservation. We are starting to get some much needed rain here at Wild Eagle Lodge so the grass should be green in no time. We held an Easter egg hunt for the kids at the resort yesterday and everyone involved had a blast. I’m already looking for better hiding spots for next year. I hope everyone has a safe and happy Easter!
